An update to this post from 2016:
This week, we were honored to have Jim Downs, Sr, make a generous donation of $1,000 to Fat Kitty City in memory of his son, also named Jim Downs, who died two years ago on July 7, 2016.
We posted this tribute in 2016 documenting the tragic and unexpected death of Jim, while filming a documentary in Alaska. Jim loved animals (especially cats) and many family and friends contributed to Fat Kitty City in his memory.
We thank Jim’s dad for his donation and continue to remember and honor Jim’s passing.
Jim’s huge body of work and world travel adventures are well known to all who enjoyed his creative genius. Jim’s greatest love was for animals. One of his last acts was to rescue an abandoned kitten on the freeway in Los Angeles. If Mother Teresa had a counterpart in the animal saint world, it would be Jim. Saint Francis would be proud! If your donation can help just one cat, Jim will be smiling down on you from heaven.
