My name is High Socks and I am more than just a special needs kitty; I am a sweet and loving boy looking for my forever home. Please read my background story below and consider me for adoption! I am recovered from my injuries and I am so ready for my new home!!
High Socks’ Rescue Story: We received an email asking for advice from a long time FKCHS volunteer just wondering where one might be able to get help for a kitty in need. At the time, the volunteer was calling him “Poor Boy”. He had been searching for food in an apartment complex and a mutual friend was feeding him, but she recognized he needed help. When FKCHS’ intake team saw the photos emergency protocols were immediately activated. This was no ordinary case of a hungry kitty. As you can see “Poor Boy” was in serious need of medical attention and he needed help fast.
FKCHS’ President, Cindy Minghelli’s response was “Get him to the Sanctuary!” Emergency rescue efforts went into action and our wonderful volunteer immediately went to rescue him and brought him to us. He was “Poor Boy” no more. Because he has big beautiful white socks, he is now High Socks!
Immediately upon arrival it was quickly discovered he was emaciated, sick, injured and had a BB lodged in his left ear. Not only that, but High Socks was starved for attention. He would use his paw to grab his caregiver’s hand to rub his face. Everyone’s heart was melting. How can a kitty so neglected and abused be so trusting? Perhaps he knows he’s safe?
High Socks has a long road to recovery….With missing/broken teeth; a damaged upper lip, rotting roof of his mouth; emaciated; possible wounds from BB gun, and other illnesses he has started his recovery process and is giving so much love in return.
